Mend. Accept. Persist. is a snapshot of one’s personal journey.

This piece established my “crosshatching” technique. I consider it a sort of weave. Density is a consideration of how much to conceal and how much to keep revealed. It complicates line’s relationship to volume, and further creates an inside and an outside.

As you move around the piece, the pattern changes. The viewer is forced to consider front and back, near and far, and flat and dimensional.

The metal is coated in a weathering oil to prevent rusting, but is meant to be an indoor piece.
