reduced to the core
10’ x 2’ x 7’, Steel, 2023
What exists at our innermost cores? When we peel away distractions and comforts, and when we are met with hardship, we're faced with who we truly are.
This sculpture depicts the wilder, unrefined portion of the self as it relinquishes sturdier confines.
After two years living outside in New England's rain and snow, this sculpture is slowly giving way to erosion, furthering the question of what we find when we peel back layers in search of our center.
